Lindisfarne Care Home in Hartlepool have been officially made a Safe Haven Home by Cleveland Police for people with dementia. If the police come across anyone with dementia who is lost or confused they will be taken to Lindisfarne as a place of safety until their relatives can be contacted. This comes just in time for Dementia Action week which will be taking place from the 21st May. On Tuesday 22nd May Cleveland Police are hosting a Dementia Week celebration event which will include speakers from the Alzheimer’s society and from the emergency services where Lindisfarne will be receiving a special mention as the Safe Haven home.
